Larsen Design/Build believes that knowing where you’re headed can help to make the project process work better, for the builder as well as the customer. Here’s how our process works:
You’ve done your homework, you’ve gotten referrals from those whose completed projects you admire, you’ve checked certifications and references, and you like what you hear during our initial telephone call. You decide that Larsen Design/Build is the right firm for your project.
Our first meeting at your home is a vital one where we help you to define your goals and objectives and outline reasonable budget parameters for the project. We highly encourage you to collect photo examples (books, magazines, web sites) of your design style. Sometimes, straightforward projects with a simple scope of work won’t require a formalized design. In that case we will provide detailed cost estimates for specific work within your designated budget range. If a more formalized design is required, then we will provide you with a cost for the design work.
Design is an ongoing and iterative process, often involving preliminary sketches and budget revisions before design finalization. Design work includes a detailed survey of your home and property including topographical information, drainage patterns, architectural and planting features, etc. Our design fees typically range from $500 for simple projects to $3,000 or more for complex projects involving many elements such as pools, pool houses, garden structures, renovation of the home, etc. Master plans with multiple elements can often be built in phases over successive years. Because our objective is your satisfaction, Larsen designs will reflect both your vision and meet your budget.
On design completion, we enter into a contract to build your project, which outlines specifications of the work, projected completion dates, as well as payment schedules. Our skilled crews, many with over a decade of experience with Larsen Design/Build, then transform your residence into a cohesive and beautiful place for your family and friends to enjoy for years.
